Program Description
The EnCorps Teachers Program’s Career Pathway
EnCorps Teachers Program provides an effective pathway for professionals to successfully transition into math and science teaching and tutoring jobs in underserved public middle and high schools.
Steps on the pathway include:
- Tutoring, where you can begin to connect with the students and community in which you would teach.
- Guest Teaching, where you can jump-start your teaching experience working with students in a classroom setting while investigating testing, credentialing options, and next steps.
- Credentialing Program, where you earn your California Single Subject Teaching Credential. There are several different options for credential programs. For more information, click here.
- Full-Time Teaching, where you transition into math or science teaching jobs in low-income public middle or high school. Some programs allow you to earn your teaching credential while teaching. Upon entering your first year of teaching at a public, high needs school, you will become eligible for Loan Forgiveness programs that will offset your tuition costs by up to 100%.
- For women who are accepted into the EnCorps program, you may be eligible for additional tuition reimbursement costs, due to grant funding aimed at increasing the number of women and girls in the sicence and math fields.
